A crafty afternoon with my children.

We painted cute wooden spinning flowers scooped up from our Michaels store.
Despite my love of art, I’m not one to first suggest to my children that we pull out the paints very often because of the mess it creates at their age…But to my disbelief, this paint activity proceeded quite smoothly (minimal tears and my littlest was napping, which helped tons!) – yay! :D
Such a fun and rewarding activity for a breezy day, too.
Please enjoy the photographs from Preschool Creme de la Little T Jane:

Glob glob.

Ye old two brush hold technique mastered by my son.

Swish and swirl by my daughter.

Pretty, bright and colorful flowers!

Those paint glob-a-lobs add nice texture…but I have to share that it was very difficult to explain that they tend to take a wee bit longer to dry than they wish!!!

So awesome.

K’s painting.

L’s paintings.

Drying…The last step is for me to coat the flowers with a protective sealant.

Last night, I couldn’t resist spontaneously giving mine a happy little face – the red center made a good nose, no?
Of course, this morning both K & L wanted me to add cute little smiling faces to their flowers, too! :D
Next time we’ll try painting outside with their Ikea MÅLA easel, a fantastic holiday gift received this past year.
Super affordable and a great design with a wipeboard side and a chalkboard side! It can also be used with the MÅLA drawing paper roll (and each child can work on their own side of the easel).
Nice! :D

beautiful! the kids at school can’t get enough of painting and they really crank out some fun stuff. the more you do it the more manageble the clean-up gets.
thank you- i really hope to do this more often (that paper and some of the paints were a gift from you! yay!)…you are so right. they loved it! plus i’m in love with the results…so cute and inspiring! :D
